God is a God of Peace. At the same time, He recognizes that our world is full of evil, and there will be wars. When we are at war, there’s no greater Ally than The Lord God Himself. Stand, fight, and take God to the battlefield with you.
1. Wars must happen.
“When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come” (Mark 13:7 NIV).
2. It’s time.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace” ( Eccles. 3:1-8).
3. It’s justified.
“For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face” (Psalm 11:1)
“When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies” (Num. 10:9).
4. God will be with you.
“When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you” (Dt. 20:1)
5. God will help you.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ‘All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, little Israel, do not fear, for I myself will help you,’ declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel” (Is. 41: 10-14).
6. God will train you.
“Of David. Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me” (Ps. 144: 1-2).
7. God makes it clear that with Him, the little guy can beat the giant.
“So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him” (1 Sam. 17:50)
8. God, Himself, is a Warrior!
“The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name” (Exodus 15:3).
9. God is victorious in war.
“The LORD will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies” (Is. 42:13).
“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD” (Prov. 21-31).
10. War is Spiritual, so take God with You!
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Eph. 6:10-18).
Win or lose, the silver lining is our ultimate victory in Christ Jesus, resulting in eternal life. This is our one and only comfort during a war which results in much suffering and the loss of so many lives. Don’t go into battle without Jesus!
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 15:57).

The Silver Lining 
I had no words, all I can do is pray, draw my art any keep the world awake. I pray nightly and daily for you. All I could do today was post lyrics to a song. Everyone knows this isn’t your war or even Russia’s war this is solely Putin’s war. I love you! You have Americans in your life. God Bless you.

Babettey, I felt your emotion reading your comment. I feel just like you! I think it’s good to express our emotions and love and prayers for the people of Ukraine; whether it be through writing, art, or music. I think people want to do something so they start right with who they are. I think it’s good. And the prayers are the very best; and I believe prayers can be expressed through our gifts and talents as well. I love you too, Ukraine! Yes, Americans care about you. You Ms. Angela, Totally get it. I constantly worry about it. I mean yes the adults of course but the children, that tears me up something horrible. My son served in the Iraqi Freedom war and I feel that same feeling in my gut. I do digital art with a few from over there and you can see it and feel it in their work. I just wish we were a stronger country as a whole, so we could do so much more. And if your anything like me, you know we can and should get off our rear ends and do something anything. But this America won’t. Thank you for commenting. It really does mean a lot especially when my friends read it! Then they know we are everyplace wishing nothing but love, peace, and happiness. War! What’s it good for absolutely nothing! Remember that song? Maybe your to young. But it’s good for nothing but heartbreak. God Bless

Babettey, it sounds like you feel just like me; wanting to do so much more. I wrote a post today called “Close Their Skies! SAVE UKRAINE!” I understand there are logistics, precautions, and much more involved; yet I strongly believe America should be doing more. And yes, I also wanted Ukraine and surrounding countries to know that America is fighting for them, supporting, and praying for them. I’d say the majority of America wants to help and wants leadership to do more. Please thank your son for his service. I had students back then, and they were missing their parents for months on end. It was very very hard on them. But they were also proud! I’m interested in seeing your digital art. Can you post a link here? My son, Jake is a gifted artist. He draws in ink; museum quality work. We were discussing his creating a tee shirt of the emblem of Ukraine’s flag. I feel the same as you about war. I wrote about it here, it has the same line as the song.
