Do you ever wonder why some people seem to have tons of connections, yet a closer look reveals shallow friendships with no real foundation? That’s because true interest can only grow from a solid investment. Some of these busy relationships are more about promoting self, and selfish interests, rather than steering friends and acquaintances towards eternal life through Jesus. Others people seem to have deeper connections, and though they cannot get together with friends as often, they have closer, fulfilling relationships with friends and loved ones. Taking time to really get to know people and encourage them on their walk with Jesus, is a spiritual investment. It yields a return of blessings from God, including the greatest blessing: salvation of souls. Salvation results in eternal life in Heaven with our loved ones and friends who have accepted Jesus. Investing in Jesus, goes beyond any return we can get from investing money in the bank.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt. 6: 19-21 NIV
