Can one person convince another, and others, to stop believing you and your upright character, simply by using gossip, lies, and manipulation? The answer is “Yes.” If this is happening to you, you’re not alone. We simply need to pray, wait patiently, and trust in God. The silver lining is that God is Truth, and He’s not just going to sit around watching, and letting people tell lies. He’s not sitting around now. Through Jesus, God is actually building a fortress inside of us. Our meager shelters are surrounded by walls of rejection and fear, so they are easily broken. Like houses made out of leaves and sticks, they blow over with the slightest breeze. But God’s fortress is a stronghold of protection. It is impenetrable, and it cannot be overtaken by the enemy. We may be surrounded on every side, but God is a fortress that cannot be shaken or destroyed. God is our rock, and He has a better, and more perfect, plan. God’s perfect plan is already in place, even when we are not aware of it.
“But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.”
