Merry Christmas to My Husband in Heaven (a poem)

Merry Christmas, Love…

I can’t believe you’re gone.

It’s birthday time, dear Jesus,

Give us strength to carry on.

I know the lights in Heaven

Shine much brighter than down here,

And even though your soul is in

The stars; your spirit’s here.

It’s here within our hearts,

And the memories we share.

It’s here when someone mentions

You; though really it’s up there.

Just know you’re missed a lot,

Yet, we’re very grateful too,

Knowing Jesus gets to celebrate

This Christmas year with you.

I know it’s what you wanted,

That your time on earth was done.

God bless you as you celebrate

This Christmas with God’s Son!

The hand painted ornament I made for Dave when we celebrated our first Christmas being a couple. The back says “1993.” We were married within eight months of meeting each other… in July of 1994.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”(Hebrews 12:1-3) Praising God that your sweet hubby is now among the cloud of witnesses! Let us remember to run with patience the race that is set before us. Until He Comes! Love you Angela!
