You are Worth Dying For: 10 Biblical Truths to Survive Rejection (Compassion Series)

“This seat is saved,” says a haughty voice. The spirit of rejection is ruthless; you know the seat isn’t meant for you. Rejection disguises insults as “compliments.” Rejection tells you negative comments about your weight and age, while pretending to be “concerned about you.” Rejection is responsible for the dirty looks given to parents whose kids melt kids down in the grocery store. If you were not hired for a job, or worse yet, fired from one; rejection was there. If you were unfairly compared to a sibling and never seemed to measure up, rejection settled in your bones.

Perhaps the worst happened; and you were physically, emotionally, sexually, or spiritually abused. Maybe it was a combination of these. If this was the case, you were likely led to believe the lie that you didn’t deserve good things. After years of abuse, you probably began to believe the maltreatment was your fault; that something must be terribly wrong with you. Lies! These terrible lies all take a toll on your self-worth. God says you are worthy, and our true worth is found through Jesus Christ!

God believes every human is worth dying for…including YOU!

Jesus died for YOU! He sacrificed his life for each and every one of us He loved you so much that he died for your sins, so you could receive his free gift of eternal life. Jesus would have sacrificed his life for you, even if you were the only one left on earth. Jesus knew that some of us would accept him and others would ultimately reject him. Yet, he still chose to suffer and die on the cross, because he thought each of us was worth it. Jesus came down to offer salvation to each and every human ever created. All who receive him, will live eternally with him in Heaven. “For God so loved the world, He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16 NIV). Jesus believes you are worth dying for!

You are worth more to God than other valuable living creatures!

God created every living creature. He watches over each and every animal, yet you are even more valuable to God because you are a human being, created in His image. Since this is true, God considers you to be His absolute, ultimate treasure! “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Luke 12:6-7). God loves us; and He fiercely guards and protects His beloved treasure!

God considers you worthy in Christ; He does not allow others to condemn you.

The Bible says you are worthy through Christ Jesus! Your sins are nailed to the cross. They are accounted for and forgiven. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are worthless or undeserving of the good gifts God has given to you. Send those people to the cross; they can argue their case before God, if they dare. For God is Truth, and no lies can stand against the truth. God’s Word is true, and the bible says, “There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 8:1). Those words apply to Christians. You think a Mama Bear is something to contend with? No one should attempt to mess around with God’s children; that’s worse than fighting a bear!

God finds you valuable enough to call you His child.

When we accept Jesus into our hearts, we become children of God. We receive the same privileges and benefits as God’s Son, Jesus Christ. God sends us The Holy Spirit to let us know we are saved. We begin to change and become more like Jesus. The Holy Spirit gives us more knowledge and wisdom, along with a confidence in Christ about our eternal future. You can be secure in knowing you are an expected, important family member of The Kingdom of Heaven. In fact, you’re so special, that Jesus Himself will usher you into the gate! “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God” (John 1:13). There is nothing more valuable or rewarding, than knowing you are a child of God!

God believes His children are too valuable to be rejected.

Any condemnation of you as a Christian, is considered by God to be null and void. In fact, it is a sin for others to condemn you, because it is a sin to reject Jesus. Since Jesus lives in the hearts of Christians, those who reject you as a Believer, are rejecting God Himself. ” ‘Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me’ “(Lk. 10:16). If anyone rejects you because of your relationship with Christ, God is on your side!

God believes you’re worth fighting for.

All over the bible, God reminds us that He is our refuge, our shelter, and our rock. He protects us from the most violent storms in our lives. He is not only an amazing umbrella, but He guides us towards the silver lining, which is glimmering bright beyond the blackest, darkest clouds. After the storm, God leaves us with a brilliant, colorful rainbow! God will never bring you through a battle you cannot win. He will reward you for your trial, and prove Himself faithful in bringing you victory, each and every time. In fact, our battle has already been won! “What then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us” (Rom. 8:31)?  There’s no way to lose when God is on our side!

God finds you so worthy, He listens to your prayers.

With Jesus as your interceptor, you are free to go boldly to God with any of your needs or requests. Just like children on earth go to their parents for help and encouragement, God wants to do the same for us. The Bible reminds us over and over again that we are to pray, and that God wants to, and will, answer our prayers. ” ‘Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matt. 7:7-8). God wants a relationship with us… Talk to Jesus!

Your sinful past does not determine your worth; Jesus does!

Our worth doesn’t depend on our occupation, our clean house, accomplishments, outward appearance; or even where we are in our walk with Jesus Christ. As human beings we are worth saving. God knows we don’t have it all together. He sent Jesus, so we don’t have to live in the strongholds of perfectionism, guilt, fear, shame, and anxiety. We can let Jesus work on our hearts and change us. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here” (2 Cor. 5:17)! We will make mistakes along the way, but the silver lining is that our worth is found only in Jesus Christ. We are not our past; we are a new creation.

GOD loves us enough to want us to live in Heaven with Him!

God wants us to be with Him forever! But, we can only enter the gates of Heaven if Jesus is standing beside us to let us in. Those of us who accept the sacrifice by inviting Jesus into our hearts, are now cleansed of sin. “ ‘Come now, let us settle the matter,’ says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they shall be like wool’ ” (Isa. 1:18). If we have Jesus, we are forgiven through Christ! We no longer have to fear God’s judgment.

God loves us so much, He created a Holy plan to help us get to Heaven to be with Him for Eternity!

God sent Himself to earth, in the form of man. Jesus, God’s Son, was birthed by his mother, Mary, a virgin. Jesus was not forced to die for us. God gave him free will; just as He gives us free will. Jesus agreed with God’s great plan, allowing himself to be sacrificed on the cross as a love offering to the whole world. He took our sins, and transferred them unto himself. Jesus took the punishment each of us deserved, so we wouldn’t live in danger of being condemned and casted into Hell for eternity. But Jesus was perfect! He didn’t deserve death! He never changed his mind, even though he could have chosen to save himself from torture and death at any moment. People insulted, beat, and spat on him. They humiliated, and killed him. Jesus died. But then he arose from the dead! Why reject Our Savior who loves us so much? “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8). Give your valuable life to Jesus; your eternity is worth it!

I needed this! I have suffered loneliness, confusion and rejection and can curl up into a ball, sometimes. What matters —> is what God thinks of me!

Aww! Amy, I so glad God’s truthful scriptures reached you! He tells us over and over how much we are loved; yet the devil tries to destroy it all! I used to care what people thought, and as I’ve grown in Christ, I find I just don’t care at all! Not unless, I’ve done something that hurt someone; then of course I care! But if someone doesn’t like me for who I am imperfectly in Christ; then I just let go. It’s very freeing! If you ever need a friend, you’ve got a friend in Jesus, and a friend in me! Here’s another post you might find helpful, if you haven’t seen it. It’s filled with scripture, because what I say doesn’t matter… what God says, does! Blessings to you for healing from those tough emotions, in Jesus’ name! I’ve been there! Jesus can heal you! 😊💙🙏🏼
