My Shooting Star
Last night I saw the brightest shooting star,
And saw a glimpse of you from Heaven…far;
A gift from God to see you
shining bright,
So brilliant, even though,
dark was the night.
And though they call it
Orionid’s Shower,
I know it comes from God; Our Higher Power,
Who makes the stars dance each and every night,
Created each; a candle, shining bright.
He’ll heal my broken heart, and ease my pain;
And show me that I’ll see you once again.
He knows the number of each star,
And where I am, and where you are.
He calls each star by each one’s name,
For each of us, He does the same.
So while I marvel at this sight,
I’ll think of you up there tonight.
I’ll gaze on His majestic dome,
And praise The Lord, that Heaven’s Home.

I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the majestic meteor shower tonight. Of course, man names the stars, but only God knows their true names. Many of the names of the stars can be found in the Bible, and it’s far more interesting to read the truth about the stars than stories we’ve made up over the years.
Man can’t use stars to predict the future, and it’s dangerous to practice astrology this way; because it goes against what God commands us to do; and is actually a form of witchcraft from the occult.
But constellations are fun! They show us directions and seasons; and give us stories to tell. They also give us memories. I remember my dad teaching me how to find Orion’s Belt. I’ve never forgotten how to find that constellation to this very day. My dad is up in Heaven with my husband. Imagine the view they will have tonight!
I can’t cover all the topics about stars in the Bible, but I encourage you to just do an internet search on biblehub.com, and type in “stars.” You’ll gain a wealth of wisdom!
I wrote the above poem to my husband Dave, who has been living in Heaven with Jesus for over two years. Being in nature gives me comfort and peace; because God created it all!
Here’s a link for education on the majestic meteor shower of 2025, and tips on how to better see the excitement going on in The Heavens:
May God bless you all, and I hope you’ll consider changing your wish, to a prayer upon a star instead. It might come true that way! If you’re hurting under the stars tonight, may you find the silver lining of encouragement in knowing God can see all of us at once. He knows each of our names, and Jesus loves every single one of us!
How Majestic Is Your Name!
For the choirmaster. According to Gittith.a A Psalm of David.
“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger. When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place— what is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?You made him a little lower than the angels;You crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything under his feet: all sheep and oxen, and even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth” (Psalm 8: 1-9 NIV)!
