Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
Jeanne and I do not celebrate Halloween. The reason is spiritual. Halloween is the complete opposite of Jesus Christ. It is a celebration of death and darkness. Jesus is the Light. No pagan holiday celebrated in any form will ever give you what you need.
Back in the 70’s, Jesus set me and my family free from death and bondage. He placed us in His Light and Life in a powerful way. That event changed us forever. As a result, I have had the privilege of leading hundreds of people out of the bondage of the enemy. I will not allow the darkness of this world to pretend to give me any joy or peace. I will be Christ’s witness to the lost every single day of the year.
So, I would encourage you to join me and stand for Christ. Tell the world about the freedom that we live in because of Jesus. Teach your kids to know the Power of Christ. Teach them to shun the darkness.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Mike
Pastor Michael Dean, lovingly known as Pastor Mike, is the Pastor of Emmaus Church in Berryville, Virginia. He and his wife, Jeanne, love Jesus Christ and have led many souls to receive the eternal gift of salvation offered by God’s One and Only Son. They have five adult children, and God continues to bless them with more beautiful grandchildren! Mike and Jeanne teach those whom are lost, that Jesus is the light of the world. They counsel the hurting, and show them that Jesus can heal them and set them free. Only the truth sets us free.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’ ” (Jn. 14:6 New International Version).

I like it when churches offer alternatives to celebrating Halloween by putting on Harvest Festivals. What do you think?

Thank you, Edith! This was my pastor’s email to the church last year. This year, it is my turn to share my journey with how we ended the tradition of Halloween in my family because of our walk with Christ. I just posted it at midnight, Halloween. There’s a link to it at the bottom of Pastor Mike’s guest post. I wrote ALL Day to get it published before Halloween. It’s something I’ve been wanting to write for a long time! Thank you for reading and for your support and encouragement; I have a couple posts of yours bookmarked for me to read too! Love you, dear sister in Christ! Blessings in Jesus’ name to you and your husband! 💙✝️
