Welcome to The Silver Lining!

During the trials and turmoils of life, God’s truth IS the silver lining, and our comfort comes from knowing that He is always in control! The Silver Lining contains: articles, blog posts, and butterfly blips. These vary in topic and length, by category, but all serve to bring the reader hope, healing, truth, and freedom in Jesus Christ!

My hope is to write about my experiences and what God
has taught me. Instead of writing another “opinion,” I prefer to use scripture from the bible
to encourage my readers to look for the silver lining. I like to focus on God’s words and His truth, rather than
the words and the lies of the world. God IS Truth,
and readers can learn more by using the scriptures from The
Silver Lining as a starting point, and further searching the scriptures.

      Kate,
Thank you so much for your sweet words! These words are encouraging to me, and help me to “fight the good fight” when life gets overwhelming. I also feel honored, that you take time out of your busy schedule to read the words God has given me to share! I can barely keep up with writing everything He tells me, but I try!
      Hugs and prayers to you,
      Angela

Thank you for sharing such encouraging posts! I noticed that your blogs have a tag to be able to ‘share’ your posts via Facebook. I run Hebrews 4 Ministries and we have a daily devotional page on Facebook (Coloring Through the Bible) I would love to feature a couple of snippets from your blogs on this Facebook page. Would that be okay? Feel free to check it out (also our website: http://www.Hebrews4Ministries.com) and let me know if this would be okay. Thank you so much!

      Keegan,
Unfortunately, as a record for the future protection of my blog and its copyright, I must publicly rescind all permissions for you to use any writing from my blog, ‘The Silver Lining’ and any other published works of mine found on the internet. On Nov. 14, 2016, I responded to your Oct. 29th permissions request to use my work. I then visited your website and found that you had already violated my copyright, both before, and on the dates of Nov. 2 and 5 of 2016. Large parts of my blog were copied and pasted onto your website in the form of devotions, without my permission. You did not credit my blog ‘The Silver Lining,’ as the source, nor did you provide its link, ensuring readers could locate and read the entire article at my website.

You did the same thing on your website’s Facebook page, where you made two comments as yourself, but instead copied and pasted paragraphs from my blog, and again neglected to credit ‘The Silver Lining’ as the source and provide its link. Because you infringed upon my copyright, which is clearly posted on my blog, I’m sorry to have to tell you that you do not have permission to use my work in the future, in any way, shape, or form. Thank you for removing my work from your pages as I have requested. May God provide wisdom, discernment, truth, and the grace of Jesus in this situation. I pray your ministry will still be used for God’s glory, and His higher purpose, which is to lead people to Jesus Christ.

April, thank you for your kind words… It’s so encouraging to have sisters and brothers in our lives, who want good things for us. I’m so blessed to have already experienced so much of God’s light in my life; He’s always there, even in the dark times! I’m looking forward to much more light in all the good things God has coming for me; knowing He will be holding my hand through the hard times too. I pray you blessings, joy, and light in your life also; and may God bless you as you write and share God’s light with others! In Jesus’ name! 💙

I’m so glad I found this site via Facebook. I’m a newbie and narcissism is also new to me and I believe my mother is a narcissist and siblings , Aunts, and my husband. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster and I’m so tired of it. I’m co-dependant and need information on this and how to become stronger. My only support is my daughter.
I think I’ll find hope here.

Brenda, I’m so glad you found The Silver Lining! I will do my best to answer your questions and give you support and encouragement on narcissism, which is the sin of extreme self-centeredness, where there is no empathy given to others but the narcissist ( though the narcissist will be good at pretending to be thoughtful). I’ll be posting several more posts on this subject this summer, and I’m also considering starting a new blog on just narcissism, in order to share as much knowledge about it as I can. You will still find a lot about narcissism right here at The Silver Lining; spiritual encouragement which will help especially victims of narcissism to find hope, healing, and joy, in Jesus Christ. I share a lot about truth here on the blog, as narcissists fill the heads of both their victims and flying monkeys (helpers) full of lies. The Bible helps us grow in wisdom and discern truth from lies. God has taught me so much, and I want others to find freedom in Christ too! You can also join my Facebook ministry page for daily encouragement. I also share more links about narcissism there to help other people gain more knowledge and support. There have been two links on narcissism shared in the past couple days at http://www.facebook.com/angelaslittleattic. 💙 Also feel free to message me or send a note if you want prayer, links on narcissism, or to talk directly. Learn as much as you can about the topic, but find your healing and counseling only through Jesus so you don’t get lost in the way! God bless you, heal you, and protect you in Jesus’ name! 💙

I’m glad I found this site through Facebook. I’ve recently learned about narcissism. I believe my mother and husband are narcissists and possibly siblings and Aunts. My only support is my daughter.
I’m very much of an enabler and that’s been my assigned role forever it seems. I’m hurt and angry and rarely heard. I stuff my feelings with food and I’m so tired.
Hoping for help and healing here.

I only “liked” this post, because I’m glad you found support here! I don’t like that you’ve been a victim of narcissism. I know it’s extremely painful! But the good news is uou don’t have to remain a victim! I’m so glad your daughter is supportive! I wrote you below, and also I suggest you read as many posts as you can find under the topics “narcissism” and “spiritual abuse” and “child abuse” here at my blog. The stories and experiences will likely feel very familiar, but the silver lining of hope through Jesus is threaded throughout them all. I’ll do my best to help you! Jesus is The Great Physician! You’ve also encouraged me today, reminding me I’m right where God wants me to be! You can also contact me on Facebook atThe Silver Lining ministry page, and you’ll get more info there about narcissism too! http://www.facebook.com/angelaslittleattic
I will be praying for you! 💙

Thank you so much! Some days are more hopeful than others. It’s just so hard to understand why your own mother and family members would intentionally hurt their own daughter and sibling.
I will give this up to God and trust that He will heal me. A lot of damage has been done. I’m 55 and it’s still going on from six states away!
Thank you for your encouragement and you’re a Blessing!! 😇

Keep looking to Jesus! Ask God to show you who is safe and not safe! I know it’s hard to believe family could do this to us, but it happened in the Bible too; and it’s happened to me. You are not alone. We will be hated for our Christianity, but God promises to protect us! I will keep praying for you, and I’m here if you need someone to talk to you and listen, and pray with you! God will use us in a mighty way; I don’t have all the answers, but I do know we can trust Him! 💙

I thank God for leading me to your story through Google search. It’s time for my departure to leave. I need Gods strength and wisdom to leave peacefully. My story: I am married to a Covert Narc for 26 years. It wasn’t until 2018 The Holy Spirit reveal to me what I was dealing with but I still remain in the relationship. God provide me a way out when we sold the house in March 2020. Still here. As a believer during the time I met him. I heard God voice telling not to get involve with this person. He abandon his family with a new born child. I was so blinded and ignored God’s instructions. In my disobedience God’s grace was upon me. Now the time his come again to listen and obey I’m ready Lord.

Michelle, first of all I want to ask forgiveness for my two year delay in replying to you. I was very very sick due to Covid. But God is best to turn to in times of need and it sounds like He’s been guiding you. I hope you are doing well and that God has helped you make some decisions you need to make for yourself. I do know that God can change the heart of a narcissist, but he or she must be willing to submit to Jesus and it’s a long hard journey. If you still need someone to talk to, please send me a new comment and we can figure a way to connect. My suggestion is Christian counseling first for you and next for your husband if he is willing. It can change everything. My prayers are with you today.

Just read your article about narcissism. Thank you. I’m convinced my 34 year old daughter, whole is extremely beautiful, brilliant, and successful is a narcissist. I thought I was losing my mind.

I came to faith late having grown up in man-made religion, in the Episcopal Church that doesn’t preach from the Bible. God directed me to a Bible church. I heard my first sermon on September 30, 2018, and saw what freedom looked like. I placed my faith and trust in Jesus, asked for forgiveness for my sins and the Holy Spirit indwelled me. I was baptized on April 11, 2021. I turned 70 in August.

It is the wisdom and discernment that I now have with saving faith that shines a light on my dysfunctional and broken and scattered family. The same is true for my siblings. No one knows Jesus, attends church or has any clue about the Bible. Praying that God will soften their hardened hearts and open their eyes and ears to the glory of God.

Katherine, it’s so good to see you here, but I am so sorry to hear about what you’ve gone through. Please forgive my late reply for I’ve been dealing with Long Haul Covid over the past couple years. It’s shocking to realize that someone you love is narcissistic: completely selfish and self-centered. I have this in my own extended family. As I’ve witnessed with one of my friends, when it’s your own child, the pain is magnified. I am agreeing with you in prayer that your family will find Jesus. And I’m so glad you did! I have found that God will get us through the pain to the other side and all we have to do is pray and wait on him. That’s it! It teaches us patience in The Lord God, and during it, we learn lots of wonderful things. This time of patience also protects us from pain and stress; and it allows us to heal. It makes us stronger so that when the time comes, we will be able to step forth in forgiveness, because we have already forgiven. And then we get to see what good things God goes! I’m proud of you for seeking the truth and giving your life to Jesus. May God bless you and restore your family in His perfect timing! In Jesus’ name! 💙

Aww Dina! I am so sorry to hear of your pain and suffering. I hope the other posts encourage you as well, because we are familiar with the incredible pain and suffering you are going through. The biggest thing we’ve learned during all of this, is to trust God completely, no matter what it all looks like. Lean on His promises, and keep praying, and when you feel too weak and tired to pray, the Holy Spirit will pray for you! When I didn’t know what to pray, I’d say The Lord’s Prayer, and I’d ask the Holy Spirit to pray for me and Dave when I couldn’t think if anything because I was too drained. Also I learned to humbly accept all gifts; and I learned God would fulfill our needs. I am agreeing with you in prayer for your healing, in Jesus’ name! Our other posts tell what God led us to do, I pray it gives you hope, but we always had Jesus at the top, knowing we couldn’t do any of this without him! If you need more prayer or a listening ear; I’m here for you. I’m on Facebook with a ministry page called The Silver Lining. And you can send me a personal friend request there too. God bless you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding! Be anxious for nothing.. Phil 4:4 and wholly lean on strength through Jesus.. Phil 4:13. Phil 4: 4-13 are the verses we repeated and prayed over and over. I’ll be praying for you Dina, in Jesus’ name! 🙏🏼💙✝️
